Summary

The MLS Working Group meeting focused on the progress of the MLS Protocol and Architecture drafts, both of which are nearing Working Group Last Call (WGLC). Draft-13 of the Protocol document incorporated significant technical changes, including streamlined vector encoding, clearer separation of leaf nodes and key packages, improved tree update algorithms, and a more robust tree hash-based parent hash mechanism. Several Pull Requests (PRs) for the upcoming Draft-14 were reviewed, with three editorial/minor technical PRs approved for merging. A more contentious PR (605) proposing a MIME type field for application data was discussed at length but deferred to a mailing list poll due to mixed opinions. The Architecture draft was noted as largely complete with minor editorial adjustments remaining. The Federation draft, which had been stale, was officially revived with new contributions expected.
